It all started when my father, Matt Sr., emigrated from Italy to this country and opened Rowayton Pizza in Norwalk, Ct (ca.1970) He would bring me to work with him when I was just six years old because it was a family affair with Mom in the kitchen and my brother and I up front helping Dad.
I learned at an early age that the key to a restaurant's success is the love and care put into every dish. I learned that authentic Italian ingredients were more important than saving a few cents by using inferior ingredients and I learned that customer service needs to be a way of life, not just an empty promise.
With over 30 years in the business, I put those lessons to use when I opened Wilton Pizza in 1993, Piccolo's Pizza in 1999 and Toozy Patza Pizza in 2006. Armed with the freshest of ingredients, lessons learned every year when I go back to Amalfi, Italy and a dedication to quality food, my restaurants will provide you with a consistently fine dining experience
I've merged my passion for Jazz with my passion for my pizzerias and created a unique concept in casual dining...the Jazzeria® (Jazz + Pizzeria =Jazzeria). With live Jazz entertainment three days a week (seasonally at The WP), you can enjoy a combination of excellent food with some great entertainment. That's what makes us so uinique...that's why we are called the Jazzeria®!
